With the authoritative and bossy style of leadership being downright thrown down the gauntlet by young employees, the recent times have grasped a huge transformation in what employees expect from their leaders. Pointing out a similar change a study conducted with more than 20,000 employees globally also revealed that companies who do not pay any regard to the workplace culture and leadership training were left with considerable risk of escalations in burnout, disengaged employees and declining business results. The numbers of the same are quite alarming. It was found out that as many as 79% of employees globally face mild, moderate or severe burnout at the workplace.

Impact of Leadership On Company’s Growth Rate and Success

• The studies have also demonstrated that leaders who communicate the employees’ contribution in achieving goals to the authorities tend to produce more results.
• The authoritative styles of leadership where employees are fearful of speaking their minds result in poor failure of their targets. On the other hand, if the employees feel connected to their leaders they produce unexpected results.

What employees expect from their leaders:

It is thus quite natural that terms such as ‘superior’ and ‘boss’ are vehemently rejected by the employees worldwide. If a leader fails in providing a good learning experience to grow and succeed they would brusquely resent their leaders.

What should leaders do?

• Recognize every small effort and wins of employees.
• Instead of micro-managing make efforts to inspire them.
• Make everyone feel connected to each other in a team.
