Who is PC Ghose?
PC Ghose is the retired judge of Supreme Court of India and currently working as a member of National Human Rights Commission. Prior to working as, a judge PC Ghose had also served as the Chief Justice of the Andhra Pradesh High Court and justice of the Calcutta High Court.
Born on 28th May 1952 in the renowned family of the northern provinces of the Calcutta City PC Ghose is a fifth generation lawyer in his family and Hara Chandra Ghose, who is said to be the first Indian Chief Judge of the Sadar Dewani Adalat at Calcutta in 1867, was a member of this family.
He has practised in civil, commercial, constitutional and company matters in the Calcutta high court and was appointed a permanent judge there on July 17, 1997.

Ghose was appointed as the Lokpal under the recommendation of high- powered panel which was chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the opposition leader.
Ghose has presided over some crucial cases which include high profile cases like the Visible contempt of court case of Calcutta High Court judge CS Karnan, 2017 ruling of disproportionate assets case against Tamil Nadu CM J Jayalalitha and her aide VK Sasikala.
